I just received a call from Mary Baluss informing me that Billy Hurwitz was found guilty of the vast majority of the charges against him. I, as all of you, am devastated and I worry so for Billy, pain patients and anyone who cares for them. Mary told me that it was impossible to tell anything about what went on in the deliberations from the demeanor of the jury members. The judge did not want to even hear arguments about his staying free on bond, and Billy was led away.
 
Words cannot express how dark a day this is. If you are a person who prays, please pray for Billy, his loved ones and for patients suffering in pain anywhere in this country.
