This is the first time I have ever replied to a list but felt the subject was
well worth it! Without making this long and drawn out, I just turned 40 and
have been a "functioning" alcoholic since well before 18. In and out of
SEVERAL rehabs, hospitals you name it. Almost 2 months ago my drinking had
reached it's highest level ever, my job, home and sanity were falling apart
before me. At this point and after so many failed attempts to quit my only
option I felt was suicide. By the Grace of God and I do mean Grace....I
found myself in the hospital talking to a Doctor I had never seen before
about this drug Naltrexone!! People as I said drinking has been a way of
life for me most of my life. The "friend" that took the pain away (incest,
child abuse, agoraphobia, PTSD, BPD, divorce) just to name a few! I DT'd for
7 days in the hospital and started on this medication it's now been 38 days
with no desire what so ever for a drink or to drink. There are very little
side affects if any and it's non addicting it doesn't get any better than
this in my eyes.

Take Care All,
